I won't and can't guarantee rankings or visibility. But here's what I did, and what I think is helpful.
The at-bat: Base hit.
Client: Multi-location HVAC and mechanical contractor, 10 branches
Work: Local SEO, Google Business Profile cleanup, technical SEO and content
Comparison window: July 26 to October 25, 2025 (before we started) vs. the same weeks in 2026
The problem
The company had grown to ten branches, and the website and Google profiles hadn't kept up. The site had roughly 400 near-duplicate pages, one for every city and service combination, all competing with each other. There were three Google Business Profile listings for the same company. The phone number in the site's tap-to-call links didn't match the number shown on the page. On top of that, 47 pages returned errors, 354 internal links pointed to redirects, and 336 pages that should have been in the sitemap weren't.
The roadmap
Technical first, then structure, then content.
- Fixed the 47 broken pages, the 354 internal links to redirects, missing H1 tags, sitemap gaps and slow pages.
- Fixed the sitewide phone number mismatch, so the number people tapped was the number they saw.
- Cleaned up Google Business Profiles: removed a duplicate listing, resolved a second listing that held 99 reviews, and audited categories across all ten profiles.
- Collapsed about 400 duplicate city-and-service pages into ten branch hubs, one per location, and built a service-and-city keyword map for all ten.
- Added location schema for each branch.
- Rewrote service area pages, refreshed older blog posts, built project pages and kept Google Business Profile posts going.
What moved
- Clicks from Google went from 326 to 489 (+50%).
- Times the site showed in Google went from 348,299 to 604,801 (+74%).
- Average position went from 37.1 to 20.0, roughly page 4 to page 2.
All three leave out searches that included the company's name. These are people searching for things like heat pump repair or AC installation.
What didn't
The gap has narrowed lately. Looking at all searches, including the company's name, clicks for September 19 to October 18 were up only 6% year over year, from 1,869 to 1,982.
About the data: these numbers come from Google Search Console and measure Google search only. They don't include calls, form fills or jobs, and I'm not claiming any specific number of those came from this work.
How I work
That's why technical SEO is always so big to start with. That's why a roadmap is vital to follow. Not just an "SEO partner" that sells blogs, guest articles and backlinks.
