TL;DR:
Blind, automated SEO can churn out "optimized" content and improve impressions, but truly impactful SEO optimization happens when real people add value. At BaseHit Marketing, I believe that winning the organic search game is about steady base hits and it's not a one-size-fits-all automation.
In baseball, home runs make the crowds cheer, but championships are won by consistent base hits. The same goes for SEO, IMO. While AI SEO tools promise quick blog optimization they lack a human touch (for now). How I try to be different is by asking the who, why, what, when, where, and how questions (sorry for getting them out of order).
I'm calling it blind AI SEO which is more sogenerating "seo content", inserting keywords and calling it done. These automated tools (like ChatGPT or Jasper) promise time savings and higher search impressions. But in most cases, they don’t know your business or your customers business and they hardly add any value. The result? You end up with generic content that’s "SEO optimized", but lacks a real audience connection (Forbes, 2024; SparkToro).
At BaseHit Marketing, I believe that SEO should pair the data (numbers) with relationships. My approach looks to:
I told AI to optimize one blog post (and simply pasted it in), then spent an hour manually restructuring another, focusing on the question, "Why would a reader care?" After a month, the AI post had gained 9 impressions, but zero clicks; the human-optimized post climbed to 262 impressions, still with zero clicks but undeniable visibility growth. The lesson? Google can tell when content has real value.
Now I'll just end up pruning this content as there are more useful pages to focus my time on but it was an interesting test that only took a months wait.
AI in SEO is unbeatable at certain tasks and is EXTREMELY helpful in creating content. However, some AI’s blind spots include:
Humans, however, deliver:
As seen at BaseHit Marketing, these human-led approaches are what deliver sustainable SEO optimization and real business momentum, not just fleeting metrics.
AI in SEO is a great assistant, but letting it drive blind isn’t enough. To win in SEO (and in business) you need to focus on real people can provide.
